TSTY Wind Power Compact Substation (prefabricated substation dedicated for wind power) is an HV/LV prefabricated substation integrating high‑voltage switchgear, step‑up transformer, protective fuses, low‑voltage switchgear, and auxiliary control systems. Specifically designed for wind turbine systems, it steps up the low voltage AC output (0.69kV or 1.14kV) from the wind generator to 10kV or 35kV, delivering power to the grid via medium voltage lines. The substation features a compact footprint, external radiators for better heat dissipation, and advanced transformer technology for high reliability. The transformer oil serves as the insulating medium for the 10kV/35kV high‑voltage components, significantly reducing required clearance distances, enabling miniaturization and high protection.
Fully Sealed, High Protection
The enclosure is fully sealed, isolating the transformer oil from the atmosphere and greatly reducing oxidation and moisture ingress, thereby improving system stability and reliability. The HV/LV compartments achieve IP54 protection, while the transformer itself reaches IP68, capable of long‑term submersion, making it resistant to rain, salt spray, and sandstorms.
Efficient Cooling for Extreme Climates
External fin‑type radiators are easy to disassemble and maintain. Natural air cooling combined with forced ventilation ensures stable operation from -40°C to +55°C, suitable for high‑altitude, low‑temperature, high‑humidity, and coastal environments common in wind power.
Strong Anti‑Corrosion & UV Resistance
The enclosure is treated with a special shot‑blasting process and coated with salt‑spray and UV‑resistant paint. It withstands coastal salt‑fog corrosion, intense sunlight, and sand erosion in desert areas.
Intelligent Monitoring & Remote Operation
The transformer tank can be equipped with pressure and temperature gauges with communication interfaces. The load break switch can include a limit switch. Via RS485, Ethernet, or wireless modules, key parameters such as oil temperature, oil pressure, and load status can be remotely monitored, alarmed, and operated, supporting unattended wind farms.
High‑Performance LV Distribution
The low‑voltage side uses modern intelligent circuit breakers and moulded case switches with high breaking capacity and superior protection. It can integrate energy metering, surge protection, and redundant power supplies for auxiliary loads (e.g., tower lighting, communication equipment).
